Hat Dog is run by Polina, who is responsible for your personal data. Questions or requests about it: email p.stafienko@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and what you bought. We use these to make and post your order, send your receipt and contact you about the order. The legal basis is performing our contract with you.
- Custom embroidery: the description you give us, used only to make your item.
- Payment: card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
We don't send marketing emails, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone for their own use.
Who processes it for us
- Stripe — takes the payment and collects your delivery details.
- Our hosting provider — runs the website and stores order records.
- The postal service — gets your name and address on the parcel.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 6 years, because UK tax rules require us to keep sales records. After that we delete them.
Cookies and storage
The shop doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies, and has no analytics. Your bucket is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it's still there when you come back; it never leaves your device until you check out. Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it — email p.stafienko@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
